(Washoe County, NV) — Washoe County’s newest manager has some prior experience with the position. On Monday, Commissioners appointed Kate Thomas to the position after interviewing four candidates during a special meeting. Thomas took over for Eric Brown, who retired from the position in June.
During her interview, Thomas highlighted why she was qualified for the job.
Approximately 109 people applied for the job when it first opened. Other candidates interviewed were James Doar, county administrator in Gallatin County, Montana; Laura Free, director for administration at Washoe County’s Regional Transportation Commission; and Tyler Stone, chief administrative officer for Wasco County, Oregon.
