Three fatal crashes were reported in northern Nevada and California over the weekend.
Reno police say a pedestrian was hit near the intersection of Sutro and East Sixth Street around 5:30 Sunday afternoon. The victim later died at a hospital. Police say the driver is cooperating with the investigation. Speed nor impairment appear to be factors.
Meanwhile, NHP troopers say a crash along Mt. Rose Highway closed two lanes of traffic Sunday morning. It happened around 9 a.m. along Route 431 near mile marker eight in Washoe County. A car headed west failed to negotiate a curve entering the eastbound travel lane, hitting an oncoming vehicle. One person died and their identity was not released.
Lastly, a big rig crashed near the Nevada state line just before Hirschdale around 8:30 Sunday morning. No cause was given nor was the name of the victim.
