(Reno, NV) — Reno is looking for new ways to get rid of rats. The city says they’re seeing more rats in neighborhoods and they’re trying to coordinate eradication and prevention efforts. Officials are in talks with state agencies, but dealing with rodents is typically the responsibility of homeowners. Since there’s not currently a major health problem being driven by rats, Reno officials say it’s not yet a government issue. That means residents need to take steps to keep rats away. Move pet food indoors, seal cracks as small as one quarter-of-an-inch and trim vegetation.
