(Minden, NV) — Douglas County school district officials say they are in the middle of a fiscal emergency. The board of trustees made the declaration on Thursday, which means the district has a negative ending fund balance and doesn’t have enough money to cover expenses. A new reduction plan is in the works, with trustees hoping it will help the district reach a net-zero fund ending fund balance by next year.
