(Reno, NV) – Former Reno Mayor Jeff Griffin has died. The City of Reno says Griffin passed away Thursday. Griffin served as Mayor from 1995 to 2002. Griffin also served as the chair of the Criminal and Social Justice Committee for the U.S. Conference of Mayors. Griffin was also honored with a Reno People Award in 2018 by the City. Mayor Hillary Schieve in a statement called Griffin a successful businessman and visionary leader who helped champion the creation of Artown and supported servicemembers in the Veterans Day Parade.
