(Southern Sierra, CA) – A major development by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife yesterday. Biologists successfully captured, tagged and released one of 50 red foxes in the Southern Sierra. They called it a “rare and exciting milestone,” as there are a limited number of red foxes in the region. It’s also one of the range’s most elusive animals. They hope to gather knowledge of the fox’s habits to hopefully aid in conservation efforts.
