Jail Inmate Arrested, Accused in a Murder For Hire

Detectives from the Reno Police Department Robbery Homicide and the Sex Crimes / Child Abuse Unit responded to Washoe County Jail, to investigate reports of a murder for hire plot put in place by a current inmate. Suspect Jacob Poochigean also known as Bryan Peterson was identified as the inmate involved. The investigation revealed Poochigean conspiring with a second suspect who was later identified as Jorge Gonzalez, to murder the victim/witness in his pending criminal case. Poochigean was arrested last April for Robbery with a deadly weapon, Kidnapping, and Sexual Assault with a deadly weapon. During the investigation it was learned that Poochigean believed that killing the victim in his case would lead to the charges being dismissed against him and he actively conspired with Gonzalez to have the victim killed.
