Suspected Carjacker Arrested in Reno

Reno Police have arrested 39-year-old Eric Romero-Labatto in connection with an armed carjacking at a car wash on Sutro Street. According to Reno Police, around 7pm last night, Romero-Labatto approached a woman and pointed a semi-automatic handgun at her head. He then demanded her car keys, and took off in the vehicle. The victim was not injured. Then, around 10pm, police located the stolen vehicle and attempted to pull him over. Romero-Labatto failed to do so, leading to a pursuit. He later lost control of the vehicle and crashed in the area of Tripp Drive and Clear Acre Lane. He was taken to a hospital with minor injuries and was later booked into the Washoe County jail.
