The suspect killed in an officer-involved shooting in Sparks was 57 year old Roland Brizuela of Sparks. Reno Police, in line with protocol, have taken the lead in the investigation. Washoe County Sheriffs Office is also part of the probe. Just after 9 p.m. Tuesday, two Sparks Police officers were investigating reports of someone with a gun and a robbery on London Circle, near Sparks Middle School. While in front of a home, officers came across a man who matched the suspect description in the incidents. Police say Brizuela showed a gun when they confronted him and that led to officers firing several shots, killing the suspect.
