Hillside Elementary School recently conducted a survey of parents in Lockwood about a Before and After School Program the Lockwood area. The results showed a need , and an estimated cost of $14,000 to cover all students. Lance Gilman and his son Donny Gilman then stepped in to make a donation from the Gilman Family Trust to cover 100% of the $14,000 in initial costs. Also the Gilman Family Trust donated $1400 to fund a Science Camp for Hillside Elementary 5th graders whom otherwise would not have been able to attend. Lance Gilman says, “We’ve been very fortunate here in Storey County.” He adds, “My vision is for the Lockwood school children of today to have vast opportunities with the global tech companies here in TRI just a couple miles away.”
