We now have new information about an officer-involved shooting Wednesday night in Reno. According to investigators, a group of officers from multiple agencies were outside of a home on Lester Avenue when the suspect they were planning on talking to came outside and lunged at them with a knife. A Sparks Police Detective fired the shot. The suspect is in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The Reno Police Department and Washoe County Sheriff’s Office are conducting the investigation in accordance with the regional Officer-Involved Shooting protocol. The suspect, was being investigated for child sexual assault.
