Douglas County Woman Pleads Guilty to Elder Exploitation

A Douglas County woman has pleaded guilty for her role in an elder exploitation case that took place in 2017. 49-year-old Sheri Hines pleaded to Embezzlement in the Amount of $3,500 or More, a category “B” felony. She was arrested in Douglas County. According to the criminal Information, Hines used a debit card entrusted to her for caring for her mother, who is over the age of 60. It was not for Hines’s personal use. The victim lost more than $5,000.
