While thousands have lost their homes and possessions as the result of the wildfires burning in California, we sometimes forget that the emergency personnel helping those people, live in the communities they serve.  In Butte County alone, more than 30 officers, 7 CHP troopers, and 17 Paradise PD officers have lost their homes so far. Vonk says they’re looking for donations of cold weather gear, bedding, pet supplies, and wrapped Christmas gifts with tags that specify gender and age. They’re also accepting monetary donations. You can donate at any local NHP field office.
