After two murders in Douglas County last week and two in suburban Reno this week, Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam held a news briefing saying they haven’t ruled out a connection between the two people dead inside a home in South Reno Wednesday and the murders of two women in Gardnerville. The sheriff’s office did confirm that 56 year old Connie Koontz and 74 year old Sophia Renken were shot, and that the victims in the Reno murders are an elderly man and woman. Washoe County sheriff Balaam says they’re now working with Douglas County to see if all the evidence matches up.
