A man facing a Washoe County Judge for sentencing, ran from the courtroom this morning. Will Kernan pleaded guilty in late 2018 for burglarizing his neighbors in July 2017. As Judge Barry Breslow told Kernan he’d serve 18 to 120 months in prison, he ran from the courtroom, and made it to the Truckee River a block away, before being caught by deputies. The escape will lead to even more charges. Kernan allegedly had a plastic bag with a loaded gun stashed outside the courthouse building.
