A pedestrian was taken to the hospital after being hit near the University of Nevada campus early this morning. It happened at N. Virginia and E 16th Streets at about 2:30 a.m. Police say the victim was alert and conscious when he left the scene in an ambulance. Investigators say he was in a crosswalk when he was hit. Officers say the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
