Studio Operator/Announcer/Producer  Reno, NV 

Cumulus Media in Reno, NV is seeking applicants for part time on-air positions at News Talk 780 KKOH.  

General Responsibilities

  • On-air operation of the master control room of KKOH-AM and automated FM facilities
  • Proper execution radio station format
  • Gathering, Writing and announcing news and traffic reports
  • Creating web site and social media content
  • Participation in station promotional events and community service efforts
  • Digital audio production
  • Emergency Alert System Operation

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Prior broadcasting experience is preferred but not required, including digital on-air, production and editing software such as Adobe Audition, Scott Studios and Newsboss
  • Computer literacy in applicable programs such as Word and Excel and ability to learn and navigate web-based software programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to use the Internet, social media and smart phone technology
  • Awareness of current events and a passion for news and information
  • Ability to adhere to established policies and procedures of Cumulus Media plus rules and regulations of the Federal Communications Commission
  • Interaction with listeners in a public setting
  • Problem-solving ability and prioritization skills
  • Ability to multi-task, problem-solve, prioritize and handle pressure and deadlines
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and overnights as needed

Education and Licensing Requirements

  • Must possess valid state drivers license and acceptable driving record

Physical Requirements

  • May occasionally require lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time
