KEYSTONE CONSTRUCTION DELAYS TILL AUG

road construction detour delays free KEYSTONE IMPROVEMENTS WILL CAUSE DELAYS — RTC has begun road improvements on Reno’s Keystone Ave. that may inconvenience drivers until early August. From University Terrace to Coleman Drive, new bike lanes will be created, deteriorating sidewalks will be replaced and vehicle travel lanes will be reduced from two lanes in each direction to one in each direction. The improvements will create a “Complete Street,” which is a street with separate spaces for vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists. RTC will install a flashing beacon at the intersection of Kings Row and Keystone Avenue to alert drivers to crossing pedestrians, and lay down a new slurry seal on Keystone from 7th St. to McCarran Blvd. The $350K project is funded through local fuel taxes. During construction, drivers should expect short delays and periodic lane closures. Access will be preserved to businesses during construction.
