Carson High School, working with the McKinney-Vento Students in Transition program, hopes to collect 400 coats so they can give them to kids in the area. A number of kids in Carson City are without coats, even as temps dip below freezing, and some of these students live in cars, campgrounds or motels or with other relatives. Organizers are asking for coats and hoodies of all sizes to be donated, and you can drop them off during business hours at Fingerprinting Express at 1958 E. William Street, Superior Door and Window at 144 S. Curry Street, or at the McKinney-Vento building located at 628 W. Musser Street between 8 a.m-3:30 p.m.
