Nearly 4,000 Washoe County School District eighth-graders will interact with hundreds of industry professionals at the WCSD Career Expo today and tomorrow at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.  The first of its kind event for the district, is designed to help students learn about career and college opportunities in Nevada through interactive presentations with experts in their fields. Dozens of companies will be represented including Tesla Motors; Sala Family Dentistry; the University of Nevada, Truckee Meadows Community College; the FBI ; Amazon; REMSA; and the Nevada Manufacturers Association. Students will engage in hands-on demonstrations and activities in areas including energy innovation, medical, IT, agriculture, STEM, human services, marketing, and more. These are designed to help students begin building success in high school, and to offer information about Signature Academics and CTE programs available in the District.
