Governor Brian Sandoval has released a statement regarding Syrian refugee resettlement in Nevada. In his statement, Sandoval says, It is in the interest of all Nevadans and the millions who travel to our state annually to insist on extensive evaluations of any potential risk individuals may pose to Nevada or our national security. He says he’s asked state agencies to determine the total number of refugees currently in Nevada and he’s contacted the White House and will follow up with a letter to President Obama requesting a review of the refugee eligibility processes for resettlement programs. He did, however, stop-short of refusing to take any refugees.
