Sparks Police Department officers are working in the area of Wabash Circle and Vista Blvd after at least one Sparks Police car was involved in an accident just before 12:00 a.m. this morning. The incident occurred when an Officer with the Sparks Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle. The vehicle did not yield to the officer and tried to ram the officer with his vehicle before speeding off. During the pursuit of the suspect, the suspect vehicle struck a Sparks Police vehicle head on. The driver and passenger in the suspect vehicle were taken into custody and transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The officer was also transported to Renown where he was treated and released for injuries sustained from the accident. The identity of the officer and suspects will not be released at this time as the investigation in on going.
