A volunteer chaplain at Washoe County’s Jan Evans Juvenile Justice Center has been relieved of his duties over his views on homosexuality. The Reno Gazette-Journal is reporting that Marvin Neal says he was fired last week via an e-mail after 15 years as a chaplain at the center. The R-G-J says the Division Director for the Center, Steven Calabrese, told them the facility is looking for someone with more tolerant views on same sex relationships to lead Sunday services and Bible classes. Calabrese says the decision was made in light of recent sermons by Neal.
