Deputies Hope DNA Will ID Suspect

Carson City deputies are hoping DNA will be the key to apprehending a suspect who has been threatening a local judge. The Carson City Sheriff’s Office has issued a DNA arrest warrant, extending the statute of limitations on the case. The warrant provides a DNA marker from an envelope sent to Justice of the Peace John Tatro but no name of a possible suspect. Sheriff Ken Furlong said Friday that investigators have exhausted all other options in trying to identify a perpetrator. Authorities say someone fired two shots through Tatro’s front door in December 2012. No one was hurt. In December 2014, Tatro received a Christmas card with a death threat and in May, someone left a burning object in front of his home.
