The Nevada Transportation Authority says they can’t force drivers for Uber and Lyft to participate in fingerprint checks. Lawmakers wanted to determine whether fingerprinting and FBI background checks are stronger than the checks the companies do themselves. Background checks were a major debate when lawmakers considered ride-hailing bills in the last session.
