A murder charge has been re-filed against 37-year-old Robert J. Ramirez in the 2005 death of Charlotte Szczepkowski. He was arrested before, but the case was dropped for insufficient evidence. The Washoe DA’s office reopened it and found more evidence connecting him to the crime. Ramirez and an ex-girlfriend had lived with the victim on Prater Way before the killing. Szczepkowski was beaten to death.
