The Reno City Manager and the Council heaped praise on Dave Cochran, then unanimously voted to make him the Reno Fire Chief.  The new chief was praised for his low key style, and for building morale in the department. He was grateful for the council’s support, and for the backing of rank and file firefighters.  City Manager Andrew Clinger said sticking with the guy getting the job done, is a better decision than launching a costly national search for someone else.
