A Sparks man is facing charges of first degree arson after police say he intentionally set his apartment on fire. The Sparks Fire Department responded to reports of smoke coming from an apartment in the 1600 block of Merchant Street on Sunday around 7:30 p.m. When crews arrived, it appeared a fire had been started then put out. A short time later, officers found 20 year old Tristan Dufurrena and determined that he had intentionally started the fire. In addition to the arson charge, Dufurrena is also facing charges of obstructing a Peace Officer and Possession of drug paraphernalia.
