A snowboarder who didn’t have a pass and was traveling thru an off limits area at Sugar Bowl last Friday is being blamed for triggering an avalanche, and may face criminal prosecution. Christian Michael Mares was not injured in the avalanche, but officials at the resort say he was a trespasser who put others in danger. They’ve turned the incident over top Placer County authorities.
