The state Attorney General has filed a formal request that the Nevada Supreme Court come up with an expedited decision, about the state’s halted school choice program. Carson City judge James Wilson granted an injunction against the program this month. The voucher-style arrangment allows parents to claim more than $5,000 in state “per-pupil” funds each year and use it other school options. Opponents say it unconstitutionally diverts money from public schools to religious schools. Adam Laxalt argues the funds go to parents, they decide how to spend it, on an educational purpose.
