The Red Cross in Northern Nevada usually responds to assist residents affected by home fires, about once every four days. But lately they’ve been deployed about once every two days.  There are more house fires during the cold months, but there have been more than usual lately across Northern Nevada. Frank Rutkowski of the Red Cross says they are there to help and encourage anyone who is out of their home because of a fire or other disaster to reach out to them.
