Senator Dean Heller is a co-sponsor of the Express Appeals Act, It’s legislation establishing a new, voluntary five-year pilot program to help reduce the large backlog of appeals made by veterans to the Veterans Benefits Administration. Heller says as Co-Chair of the Senate VA Backlog Working Group, ensuring Nevada and our nation’s veterans receive a decision on their claims in a timely manner has been a top priority, and he says it’s no different for their appeals. Says Heller, these heroes shouldn’t have to wait to years when they feel the VA has made a mistake.
