Sparks plans to take a lawsuit over medical marijuana business information to the state Supreme Court. An RGJ reporter filed a public records request for copies of current business licenses for cultivation centers, dispensaries and production facilities in Sparks. The city provided the information, with businesses owners’ names blacked out. A district judge ordered the information released, but Sparks has asked the judge to stay his order. The city’s lawyers say a law granting the business owners confidentiality in state-level documents applies to cities.
