Inmate Accused of Stealing Benefits From NV

A 38 year old Ohio man who was incarcerated in Nevada got illegal unemployment benefits from the state of Nevada. Jesse Michael Whitlock pleaded guilty to theft, a category “B” felony, for his role in fraudulently obtaining unemployment insurance benefits. The theft occurred between December 2010 and August 2011 while Whitlock was incarcerated for crimes previously committed. Whitlock continued to obtain state assistance with the aid of codefendant Nedine Renee Christunas. During Whitlock’s incarceration, Christunas fraudulently filed claims for unemployment insurance benefits on behalf of Whitlock. Whitlock has been ordered to pay back 13 thousand, Christunas is still at large.
