The American Civil Liberties Union says it’s too difficult for people to register to vote through the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles. The ACLU sent a letter to the Nevada Secretary of State’s Office on Monday, saying forms available at the DMV are violating the National Voter Registration Act of 1993. That act specifies that applications for driver’s licenses should serve as a voter registration application and that a change of address with the DMV should also update a voter’s registration. The ACLU says the Nevada DMV requires voters to fill out separate forms for both.
