Nevada officials considering Daily Fantasy Sports and other new products should embrace innovation, and establish a framework that allows gaming companies to stay ahead of consumer demand. That’s the testimony of the CEO of the American Gaming Association. Geoff Freeman spoke before the Nevada Gaming Policy Committee in Las Vegas, Monday. The Committee meeting was convened by Governor Sandoval to focus on the future of DFS in Nevada. Freeman says as innovative, disruptive new platforms become established, regulations should aim to integrate them into the industry without instead pushing the customer down the path of least resistance to the unregulated, illegal market. But Freeman also adds the casino gaming industry believes legal clarity and consumer protections are needed. With clear rules of the road, gaming companies could enter into marketing partnerships or even develop a DFS platform of their own.
