Protestors Rally At Lease Sale

Environmental activists protested in downtown Reno against the sale of oil and gas leases on federal land in Nevada. The climate change Protesters rallied under the Reno arch with signs that read “Keep It In The Ground.”  The protest was in conjunction with a  BLM auction of leases scheduled inside a Reno hotel-casino. 39 parcels  in Elko and Eureka were on the block, but none received the minimum bid of $2 per acre, apparently because the decline in oil prices.
