Good things are happening in Washoe County tourism, taxable room revenues at Washoe County hotels are up 17 percent, compared to a year ago.  RSCVA says revenues through February are $27.1 million dollars ahead of the previous year. It’s the 20th consecutive month revenues have increased at hotels in Reno and Sparks, and the north shore of Lake Tahoe. Interim Director Jennifer Cunningham says good snowpack attracted ski visitors, and the growing number of businesses relocating to Reno also have stimulated room demand. Reno’s average daily room rate is also up seven percent, to $94.95. That would be a new record if it holds through the summer.
