With marching bands and plenty of pomp and circumstance, Reno’s new Virginia Street Bridge was opened to foot traffic. Work on the new bridge will come in under its 18 million dollar budget. The bridge was built by Q&D Construction. Besides replacing the historic bridge that preceded it, the new bridge will help during floods by allowing debris to flow under it.
