The Reno City Council voted five to one Wednesday to abandon a strip of land on Lake Street between East Sixth and Seventh Streets to add more housing downtown.  The new student housing unit is part of UNR’s master plan to connect the University with the downtown area.  The plan is to have the development built by 2018.
