The shooting by a Reno police officer of a suspect who hit him with a car a year ago, was justified, according to Washoe County DA Chris Hicks. The shooting happened outside the Imperial Bar when a man suspected of pointing a gun at patrons tried to flee. At one point Russell Roberts aimed his Mercedes at the officer, running over his leg. The officer fired from the ground, wounding Roberts, who was found the next day at a downtown motel, hospitalized for his wounds, then arrested.
