A longtime teacher for the Washoe County School District is among two teachers chosen to represent the state of Nevada at the 2016 “Mickelson ExxonMobil Teachers Academy” in New Jersey this summer. Barbara Boatman, who has been teaching for 10 years and currently teaches fifth grade at Kate Smith Elementary School, will join more than 150 other third- through fifth-grade teachers from across the country at the academy.
