As members of his own party, including state constitutional officers, work to unravel an historic tax package for education, Governor Brian Sandoval came close to directly blasting state controller Ron Knecht. In a statement reported by RGJ’s political commentator Jon Ralston, the Governor says the millions of dollars the controller would like to take from education will irreversibly harm children, parents, teachers, classrooms and the ability to attract quality businesses to our state. He called on the Controller to explain which education initiatives he will cut, if his referendum succeeds.
