The bears are waking up, and being reported in and around Fuji Park in Carson City. A sow with her cubs was spotted near Clear Creek, just west of the park, beginning last week, so wildlife specialists are reminding everyone that lives in, or is visiting bear country, of a few things. NDOW’s Chris Healy says to never leave food out, and always use lockable trash cans.  If you’re at the park and you see a bear or bears, watch them from a distance. Don’t try to lure them closer with food, and never leave wrappers or any food items in your car, because they can break in and destroy your vehicle in a matter of minutes.
