An emergency hearing is scheduled for Friday morning for Richie West. West was taken to a hospital, where he is in stable condition. On Tuesday, Washoe County Sheriff’s deputies found him unresponsive and lethargic in his cell. West’s attorney David Houston argued his client has health issues that are not being addressed in jail and he needs to be released for treatment. West, Dr. Robert Rand, and seven others are accusing of operating an illegal prescription drug ring out of Rand’s family practice and the Jones West Ford dealership in Reno. West has pled not guilty to all charges against him including distribution and possession of oxycodone.
