The Washoe County DA says the shooting of a drug suspect by Sheriffs deputy Jason Wood was justified. Chris Hicks says the deputy acted in self defense after being struck by William Hampton’s car during at traffic stop near the University of Nevada. The district attorney says witness accounts, audio and video backed Wood’s account that he tried to open the vehicle door to reach Hampton before Hampton backed up, steered the car toward Wood and hit him in the leg. Wood fired three times.
