A California Highway Patrol officer allegedly intentionally run down by a Reno man driving a stolen vehicle April 7th, is back home. Officer Mike Ericson was in the median of Interstate 80 in the Sacramento area when 28 year old Austin Barry Scott, allegedly backed over him intentionally. Scott was driving a 2001 Ford F350 pickup that was reported stolen in Reno. Scott allegedly fled the scene, abandoned that truck and stole another one and led authorities on a chase west on Interstate 80. The CHP used a spike strip to flatten the truck’s tires and Scott was arrested in the Fairfield.
