Nevada has been awarded nearly 12 million dollars in grants from the Department of Homeland Security, to protect the state against possible terrorist attacks and natural disasters. Senator Harry Reid says the grants will help plan, equip and train local law enforcement against acts of terrorism in urban areas, implement homeland security strategies and increase transportation infrastructure security.
