A judge has denied a request from the family of Richie West, to pay for private security, to get West released from jail to house arrest. He faces trial next year on prescription drug-trafficking charges. Richard West the Second formerly managed a local car dealership, where prosecutors say he and others sold painkillers. His lawyers say he is getting inadequate medical care at the county jail. Assistant U.S. Attorney James Keller argued it was an improper attempt to “buy his release.” U.S. District Judge Miranda Du ordered West returned to jail without bail. Looks like the trial will start in April 2017.
