A Sparks man has been convicted of attempted murder and felony battery. The victim in the case was shot once in the chest after being confronted by the defendant, who will be sentenced later this year. Based on the conviction, 21 year old Cesar Romero-Manzo faces up to 40 years in prison. The shooting happened February 10th, 2015 near Stanford and “J” streets in Sparks, after Romero Manzo crashed his car into the victims vehicle. The 20 year old victim was dating the ex-girlfriend of Romero-Manzo, and despite being shot in the chest, took the gun from his attacker, clunked him on the head with it, and drove himself to a hospital.
